Atlassian Summit is always a great place to be and this year we had more than one good reason to attend – codecentric was one of its sponsors, but also one of Atlassian Platinum Solution Partners. For the first time ever, summit was held in Europe, more precisely in Barcelona, on the 2-5 of May. It was organized by Atlassian, an enterprise software company best known for its products Jira and Confluence.
In 2017, summit gathered 1800 attendees from 600 companies and 54 countries. One of our senior software developers, Vladimir Vasić, attended AtlasCamp for the fifth time and Atlassian Summit for the first time and he decided to share his impressions. “As an add-on developer for the Atlassian marketplace I haven’t had much contact with marketing or business in general, but this event completely changed that.
“I had a chance to talk with our clients and to get a positive feedback from them in direct communication which was really great”, said Vladimir.
I
’ve had an opportunity to learn much more about marketing and to network with partners and sponsors. Me and my colleagues from Germany also presented our products to potential clients and other solution partners from all over the world.”
Team up
This year’s event motto was ‘Team Up’ and it was really all about the teams. Attendees had a chance to learn how to collaborate better and more effective, how to write procedures and processes for working within a team and much more.
There were 85 stands in the Expo Hall where we presented our products. codecentric exhibited three Atlassian marketplace add-ons at our booth: Workflow Essentials, Workflow Analyser and Label Manager. It was a great opportunity to expand our business network, but also to get valuable feedback from the customers.
Both AtlasCamp and Atlassian Summit took place in the same week, which in result had less interesting sessions at AtlasCamp. Nonetheless, I used 1:1 sessions with Atlassian engineers to discuss and learn new things. Also, I’ve learned a lot about business and marketing and that was the main takeaway for me. Best presentations I’ve attended this year were ‘Bringing server add-on to the cloud and back’ and ‘Testing for DataCentre’. All of the sessions were recorded, and you may watch them here: https://www.atlassian.com/company/events/summit-europe/watch-sessions/2017/featured/keynote .
